Does the tail on the sanke drop off after the end of the dorsal fin?

I very much like development photos. One risk with quick growth is it can cause pattern to decline faster. Not in this case. A good thing indeed.

On the positive the clear kiwa and sashi indicates the quality is probably good. I see plenty of scallop edging. Breeding good standard sanke is rather difficult. This is not a standard type, but the quality is present.

On the negative side, the main issue with the sanke is the head hi, which covers most it. This would be considered a major pattern fault.

Thanks for the comments BB, clapping of hands
I had help when culling from about 300>100 but since then have been doing it alone. I wouldn’t know a good pattern for show if it slapped me in the face. So the comments help.
I have been culling mainly for what I thought to be good qualities which from you comments I think I am on the right track.  Grin
Time will tell if they can hold up and grow.
They have taught me a lot as they have grown  every time I have culled I have taken a heap of photos and I am currently trying to find photos of each fish through the culls for future reference. It is amazing how much they change in a short period of time. Shocked

Is the Sumi being so dark this young a  problem ?

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. I have a sanke who produces thich black sumi when young that holds for years. But I have seen the reverse happen, where it starts greyish and darkens over many years. It looks more like the sumi on my sanke. I would not be concerned about it
